Beatriz Neves is an artist based in Gafanha da Nazaré, Portugal. She paints in acrylic on canvas, and the work is abstract because that is how the thought arrives — as colour first, and then as the shapes that colour needs in order to hold.

She works in layers and in series, returning to the same problem across several canvases until the surface settles. The paintings gathered here are the work of the last few years.
